When choosing a style for yourself there are a lot of things to keep in mind. Looking good requires more than well fitting clothing and the proper hairstyle, everything from your shoes to your accessories can affect how you look. If you wear glasses, picking the right shape and style are crucial to helping you finish off your look. There are three things to keep in mind when shopping for the right glasses. The glasses styles, the glasses colors and the glasses weight.

There are seven basic facial shapes; oval, rectangle, triangle, square, diamond, round and pyramid. As with hairstyle, individuals with oval faces have it easy. Their face is considered ideal and as such almost any style of glasses will suit them! Choosing glasses styles for the other face shapes can be tricky unless you remember these few tips.

When choosing different glasses styles frames, keep your face shape in mind. The rounder the face the more angles you’ll want to introduce. Keep glasses slim and structured. Angled face? Try frames that break up the length and widen at the bottom to give more softness to your features.

Color is up next. As with choosing the right hair color, the color of your frames should match both your skin tone and your skin shade. Warm skin tones should look at warmer colored glasses, and cooler tones should stick to cooler colors. And ask yourself if you will change your hair color again before getting new frames. If the answer is yes, go for a neutral color that will flatter whatever shade you go for next.

Lastly, you want to get glasses that you’re comfortable with and the weight of your frames figures heavily into this. Not all styles are available in all materials. Keep in mind that plastics and specialty metals will be the lightest and that you’ll pay more for offbeat frames made of alternative materials like bamboo.
